My visit to
Brazil and particularly to Abadiania, where the Casa of John
of God is located, was life changing for me. As the days go by
since my return I realize I am only now beginning to process
and embody some of what I received.
The most
comforting and heartening aspect of the community at Abadiania
is that the whole system of healing that works there is so
totally accepted as operating under the guidance, and
direction of the Spirits that abide there. This is not
questioned. It is the world that most of us are becoming more
and more aware of and the world that is not yet generally
accepted in the world that we encounter on a day to day basis.
Yet, in Abadiania, because of the abilities of "Medium Joao"
as John of God prefers to be called, this contact through the
veil is very advanced, clear and thoroughly effective. To me
it was like visiting the future. I am excited to know that
such a place exists and operates so well, calling so many
through its doors each day. Thousands of people pass through
each week. None are turned away and no one is charged a fee.
Medium Joao has dedicated his life to the healing of others.
He is truly an inspiration. As these people pass through and
then return to different parts of the world it is one of the
ways that the light is being spread and supported as the world
in general goes through this shift of the ages.
One long
street of Abadiania leads to the Casa. This street has many
Pousadas where guests stay. In general the owners of the
Pousadas are in tune with the Casa and so there is an air of
being in an extended space and being thoroughly taken care of.
When one goes out to have coffee (Brazilian coffee - yum!)
there is a real sense of community, like village life was like
when some of us were young!
The most
heart opening aspect of the whole journey for me was that
through many of these casual conversations one learned that
the person you were talking to was 'dying' according to
western medicine. Yet, in Abadiania, because the veils between
dimensions are so fine 'death' takes on a totally different
guise. There is a deepening and an opening and acceptance that
happens here.
There was
very little sign of despair even in the face of pain. To me
this place it is a sphere where the inner world is manifest
through the outer one, and the peace and protection of the
Divine is so palpable. It is a place where hope, love and
healing are living realities. Each person has their own
intensely personal journey and their own healing. There were
many, many stories of wonderful healings.
If you
would like to know more about John of God and the Casa de Dom
Inacio (The House of Ignatius of Loyola) I would recommend a
book I read while there. It is written and illustrated by two
of the women that work closely with Medium Joao. It is
entitled John of God - The Brazilian Healer Who's
Touched the Lives of Millions, written
by Heather Cumming and Karen Leffler.
If you
would like to take the adventure further there is another book
called And Life Goes On, written by Chico
Xavier. Chico passed in 2002. He is now one of the 'Entities'
who works through Medium Joao. I was amazed to realize how
many incredible books he wrote through automatic writing, most
not yet translated into English. And Life Goes On
is a book that gives an account of the afterlife state and
truly how life goes on after death. It is an 'awakening' read
to say the least!
Here
are some good websites that give details about traveling to
the Casa and the work that takes place there -
I would
recommend going with an approved guide as there are many
details to navigate. Guides are listed on these sites.

Cumming who wrote the book is a guide. Her website is

Very simple, basic accommodation, with a lovely
garden. Wonderful
daily
food, clean environment and run by three incredibly light
filled woman. I would also recommend having your own room, as
a personal space is really needed for the level of healing one
engages in.
Over and
over I heard and read "We receive what we ask for" - I am
aware that 'God', the 'Great Spirit', the 'Great Mystery'
whatever name we chose to call the Source of all Life answers
our requests always. No request from the heart goes unheard.
How we
receive it depends on many things, but prayers are always
answered in the best way possible for our growth and
development, and that may be different than what we think we
need through our own limited perception.
Know that
all the names that I brought with me were prayed over and
offered into the wooden Triangle that hangs on the wall on the
Great Hall. All these requests are gone through by Medium
Joao.
All the
prayers have already been heard and so I would encourage us
all to open to receive the healing in whatever way it is now
coming through. Opening to receive is the 'other half' of
prayer.
I want to
thank all of you who traveled in Spirit with me. Your support
was certainly felt and appreciated.
Deepest
Blessings of Peace, Healing and Love
